Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an experienced Data Architect to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the conceptual, logical, and physical definition of data for multiple software products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the data warehouse environment for new and existing insurance software product. You will also work with other application and database teams to provide data services for our clients, including modeling, stored procedures, replication, and other assistance to progress and meet technical and business goals.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Define, implement, and provide ongoing maintenance for data modeling initiatives
- Ensure interoperability at the data level with all relevant Applied Systems products and services
- Provide mentoring on data architecture design and requirements to other development and business teams
- Provide support in fixing database and data quality issues via reverse engineering
- Serve as a data ambassador communicating the strategic value of data
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in CIS, MIS, IT, or related Database Theory degree; or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in the design and deployment of complex enterprise databases in a corporate environment
- Strong SQL Server and SSIS skills
- Excellent database tuning techniques and practices, including partitioning, performance tuning, and working with application development teams for enhanced performance
- Data Quality Management and Data Architecture standardization experience
- Experience translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Ability to resolve complex issues related to enterprise wide data architecture concerns
- Ability to architect data management enterprise solutions that are in alignment with strategic technology roadmap and emerging industry trends
- Experience in PowerShell a plus
