Are you interested in innovating to deliver a world-class level of service to Amazons Selling Partners? The Selling Partner Paid Services team includes Amazon Marketplace Professional Services (AMPS) and Amazon Vendor Services (AVS), programs which seek to improve the customer experience on Amazon.com by working directly with sellers and vendors to improve value, selection and convenience across their business. A new and growing team, our team invents and innovates across technology, processes and people to grow the program, grow our Selling partners businesses, improve Selling Partner acquisition, retention, engagement and satisfaction and enable scalable global solutions.

The Paid Services team is looking for an entrepreneurial, strategic and seasoned leader for its growing Software Development team to lead all engineering efforts related to Paid Services programs. Given the nascency of the business, we want a Sr. SDM who has a passion for innovation, likes working backwards from the customer, and tackling complex ambiguous problems. The successful candidate has strong software development experience in platform level products or services and will:
· Influence the strategic direction and vision for the Paid Services program through an understanding of the intersection of business/customer needs and how these intersect with technical capabilities and opportunities.
· Represent the organization on technical matters with senior leadership.
· Be strategic about defining and building technical architecture that will scale for the long-term
· Exhibit depth of knowledge and familiarity with technologies to identify and deliver innovative technical solutions that meet business needs, attract strong engineers and tilt the team more heavily towards machine learning.
· Take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop estimates and communicate complexity trade-offs, then working with the development leads, deliver them in a successful and timely manner.
· Work closely with technical (engineering and data science) teams, design, and product/program management in an agile environment to deliver products to market.
· Able to influence and deliver across global teams, including away teams, other service owners and remote direct reports.
· Manage and proactively communicate risks, prioritization and trade-offs among Selling Partner and user experience, delivery, performance and operational support load.
· Create a culture of pride in engineering and operational excellence and drive best practices within teams and across own organization.
The ideal candidate is an influential leader with product and technology knowledge, a first-class problem-solver, builder, and inspirational people manager. This opportunity requires excellent prioritization, and communication skills, as well as the ability to navigate ambiguity. At the core of the position is a passion for leading and developing a team: this person will manage other SDMs, senior engineers and a TPM.
