Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for leading a team of highly skilled and highly motivated Windows Server engineers on the corporate Server platform; Evaluate and assign JIRAs for defects and enhancements;  Manage sprints for OS updates; participate in workload distribution including owning and assigning tasks; implement OS build images to support Hyper-V Windows virtualization;  Responsible for Windows Engineering functions on corporate IaaS & PaaS services hosted on Hyper-V and ESX. Own Windows standards for OS Builds, security policy implementation, Failover Clustering, CSV, Template/Image creation and maintenance. Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot multiple virtualized environments (Dev, SIT, UAT, Production; Conduct certification and OS Build for Windows Server 2019 Standard, Core and Nano; Work with the Windows Platform Owner to define Windows Containerization standards; Implement and maintain agile and DevOps methodology. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:


  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience


  • Advanced knowledge in the following key areas: Windows Server OS, Windows Clustering, Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (program management, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)


  • Advanced understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance and monitoring, best practices and JPMC policies


  • Proficient in multiple infrastructure technologies


  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget


  • Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms


  • Proficient in one of programming languages (Java, PERL, Python)


  • Strong architectural knowledge in cloud virtualization platform design and implementation of Hyper-V and Microsoft Virtualization Manager (VMM) in a large environment.  Similar experience with VMWare is valuable.


  • Experience with designing, deploying and managing enterprise-scale Storage Technologies (SAN/NAS), including Hardware & Software (Network Appliance/ NetApp), experience with Windows Storage Technologies, Storage Spaces Direct and Software Defined storage


  • Expert-level proficiency with PowerShell, Demonstrable experience automating IT processes, Knowledge of PowerShell DSC


  • Knowledge of Datacenter/Server Operational Components (Monitoring, Management, etc.), to include experience with the Microsoft System Center family (SCOM, SCCM, OMS, SCVMM, Orchestrator)


  • Experience with Open Source Cloud and configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Windows Azure Pack, etc.)


  • In-depth knowledge of Windows 2016 including the Core and Nano versions


  • Proficiency with JIRA


  • Familiarity with container technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps tools like Jenkins, Ansible
