The Position

The Client success team will work directly with clients and business partners to position and deploy key DevOps offerings including IBM Z Open Development and Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence. You will play a key advisory role in Source Code Management (SCM) migration projects from library managers traditionally used in mainframe development shops, to modern SCM such as git or Rational Team Concert.

Responsibilities

As a Client Success team member, you will need to:
  • Provide technical enablement to clients, sellers and business partners and develop long-term relationships through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate how products meets client needs
  • Provide technical assistance and product education
  • Have a deep understanding of the IBM Z DevOps portfolio
  • Develop business partner ecosystem and identify candidate partners to support the clients transformation
  • Coordinate in person workshops to setup DBB-GIT build at client sites
  • Play an advisory role or directly lead transformation projects and leverage business partners as needed for execution
  • Drive collaborative value stream engagement sessions with clients to help maximize the value of transformation efforts and improve software delivery practice
  • Interface between IBM Lab and transformation project teams to handle product and tooling enhancements requests, as well as review and validate migration strategy and ecosystem architecture.
  • Contribute to the development of assets and collaterals that will contribute to make the migration services offering repeatable at a large scale.


  • Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Ability to develops and foster all client relationships based on trust
  • Ability to understand and be sensitive to clients needs, always listening and placing the client first
  • Ability to consistently bring in new ideas and solutions that add ongoing value for the client.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (eg Groovy)
  • Experience as a JAVA developer
  • Knowledge of modern SCMs and pipeline coordinators such as Git, RTC and Jenkins.
  • knowledge of legacy SCMs like Endevor, Changeman, Panvalet, SCLM, etc...
  • Knowledge of distributed and legacy z/OS SCM
  • Excellent understanding of z/OS systems and application landscape and z/OS application
  • development processes
  • Understanding of DevOps principles, including modern Agile/Lean development


  • Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • z/OS knowledge Familiarity with USS will be an added advantage
  • z/OS Scripting knowledge (eg: REXX, JCL)
  • Experience as a COBOL developer
  • Operations / System Programmer background
  • Skills on application mapping tooling
  • A first experience in migration projects with support for changing the habits of the end users, and also having a good understanding of the difficulties of integrating tools in complex ecosystems should be a plus.
