As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. Youll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. Youll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of whats being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages: Java/J2EE
The Software Engineering position is responsible for the technical design, build and unit/system testing of custom application code
The Engineer will also be responsible for analyzing business requirements, translating them into detailed functional requirements and user stories, defining acceptance criteria and test cases for the teams deliverables
3+ or more years of experience in software development with Java/J2EE
1-3+ years of experience with web UI development frameworks, with a preference for Angular and React- 1-3+ years of Object-Oriented design experience using common software design patterns
Experience with microservices solutions, REST, Spring and Spring Boot/Cloud
Experience creating UI mockups and working with business partners to define user interfaces
Experience with Junit and other testing libraries, Git and Jira
Must be comfortable and eager to perform tasks in all phases of the software lifecycle (e.g., requirements analysis, design/development/test)
Agile experience (e.g. Scrum, RUP, Kanban)
Excellent critical thinking & troubleshooting skills, ability to find and solve root causes of problems amid "noise"
Automated testing, using tools such as Cucumber, FitNesse, or Selenium
