What you will take on:

• 
  
• Architect, design, and build Scala microservices in the Play 2 framework and Vue.js components on top of our powerful distributed backend
• 
  
• Mentoring junior developers
• 
  
• Collaborate closely with the team to plan and prioritize our roadmap
• 
  
• Translate application wireframes and user stories into functional applications
• 
  
• Design and develop tests to ensure the application is highly performant, scalable, and responsive, even on huge data sets
• 
  
• GitHub, Atlassian, for development tools
• 
  
• Testing with JUnit, Karma, and Selenium
• 
  
• AWS infrastructure and Nginx
• 
  

What you already have:

• 
  
• Proficient in functional programming (Scala, F#, Lisp, Clojure, OCaml, Haskell, Erlang, etc.), experience with the JVM ecosystem, and experience writing scalable reusable code
• 
  
• Experience building microservices, including strong knowledge in design and architectural patterns
• 
  
• Experience with Play 2 Framework (nice to have, not essential)
• 
  
• Experience with JavaScript & frameworks like Vue.js, AngularJS, or React
• 
  
• Experience with automated testing platforms and building unit tests
• 
  
• Proficient understanding of source control tools, such as Git
• 
  
• Ability to quickly grasp new technologies
• 
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a STEM related discipline
