  As a Java Software Lead for Legal Technology, you will work in a collaborative team of software professionals and be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and testing to satisfy business requirements. You will be working directly with business analysts, project managers and other development team members in the development of innovative technology solutions including user interfaces, middle-tier and server-side components, and will need to ensure adherence to architecture standards, risk management, and security policies.   You will lead your scrum development teams and build the technology solution through close liaison with subject matter experts and business sponsors whilst also mentoring less experienced developers. 
 
You will be working within Corporate Technology to build an Authoritative Data Source (ADS) as the strategic repository for all Legal originated Reference Data (e.g. External Vendors/Firms, Practice Groups etc.) consumed by the applications across the Legal portfolio. The platform will also include a web based application layer to manage, govern & control the critical data. The goal of the project is to consolidate all Legal Reference Data management functionality into a single solution, create a consistent data hierarchy, reduce the number of user interfaces, streamline the overall business process and centralize reporting to provide consistent & reliable data to users.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:



  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines


  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes

  • Adherence to corporate standards through liaison with architecture and technology teams

  • Providing architectural and coding direction to junior staff

  • Centralization of functionality into a strategic tool with a standardized single data architecture

  • Development of user interfaces and system functionality through close collaboration with SMEs

  • Building the requisite interfaces to govern & manage reference data

  • Reducing data latency through a uniform data hierarchy

  • Continuous improvement through monitoring in collaboration with Operate teams

  • Skills & Experience Candidate should possess the following skills/experience:

  • Team lead experience                                                            

  • Java / J2EE/ JSP / Servlet                                                                      

  • Experience with SQL databases Oracle                                              

  • Angular/ JavaScript / JS Frameworks                                                     

  • Spring / Spring MVC / JDBC / ORM                                                        

  • Web Services / RESTFUL using Spring MVC                                         

  • Hibernate 3.x                                                                                           

  • Knowledge and experience of data management concepts                   

  • Solid understanding of object oriented design methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience with producing efficient and maintainable code following Agile methodology

  • Strong understanding of database & data management concepts and experience with Oracle based database development

  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Attention to detail and time-management skills
