QA Engineer at Vemo Education (New York, NY)

Vemo is growing quickly and we are looking for a QA Engineer to join the team. An ideal candidate is technically minded, has a keen eye for detail, is a strong problem solver, and has excellent communication skills. You will assess software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and defects as well as help define the quality and testing parameters for new features and functionality. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications, and core platform work correctly and scale well.


Responsibilities



  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

  • Work with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to understand product vision/roadmap and design test strategy for new features

  • Maintain and build out test suites (manual and automated)

  • Execute test cases (manual and automated) and analyze results

  • Document software defects to development teams

  • Help troubleshoot issues, develop workarounds, and propose risk mitigation plans



Requirements



  • Proven hands-on experience as a QA tester or similar role (experience testing SalesForce applications is a major plus)

  • Experience in project management and QA methodology

  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors (screenshot/ bug reporting, test case scripts)

  • Good understanding of test management tools and experience using at last one (Jest, Swagger, Jasmine, Mocha, Cucumber JS, Selenium)

  • Willingness to learn and/or grow deeper expertise in QA automation

  • Comfortable with some aspects of version control tools (Git, Bitbucket)

  • Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) practices

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Attention to detail, and ability to write complete documented tickets

  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean approaches and best practices

  • Familiarity with working with remote teams
