This team looks after a real-time pricing application for the Interest Rate Derivatives trading desks under the Corporate & Investment Bank. The team works with these businesses, interface directly with the traders, marketers, middle office, market risk and quant research groups to gather requirements and build robust solutions. This application is a global Interest Rate Derivative pricer (desktop application and related pricing services invoked by other applications). Its primarily implemented in Java using JPMorgan QR analytics. It allows traders to structure trades; compute, view, summarize and report the risk for these trades; share in-process trades between the different groups involved in trade execution; and STP trades details and risk to downstream systems for trade capture and risk management.

- Analyze, design and code business-related solutions, as well as core architectural changes, using an Agile programming approach resulting in software delivered on time and in budget
- Make standard modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications, application support and industry standards
- Participate in global code review, testing, QA, Level 3 support (rotating with teammates for start of day support which starts around 7am) and training of new implementations
- Communicate with users (both FO and MO), QR and peer Technology / Operate teams, as needed
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- Strong experience in hands-on Java development
- Good understanding on risk management measures and process for fixed income securities
- Experience of working in a large global development team, using agile techniques and Object Oriented development and scripting languages, is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate accurately, concisely and effectively in a global organization
- Confident nature, willingness and capability to work on trading floor type of setting
- Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
- Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
