Low-Latency Systems Engineer at Optiver (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Within trading, having the best IT solutions is the only way to be successful as a market maker on electronic markets. Which hardware to use, how to use it, the software setup; everything has to be perfect. Our trading infrastructure is a web of distributed systems spanning various locations across the world. Huge amounts of data and low-latency systems come together in ways previously unimaginable.

We are looking for engineers who consider this puzzle an interesting challenge. You get to know your systems inside-out, aware of every little detail that matters. You like autonomy in your job; you are the expert, you decide.

What you'll need

  • a Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in an IT related study;

  • Unix/Linux skills, Python skills, and the drive to improve both;

  • experience interacting with relational databases (e.g. MSSQL, postgres);

  • facilitating and enabling attitude, with a hands-on mentality;

  • well-developed analytical skills;

  • to be a team player with solid communication skills.

Interested?

Click the apply button! The first step in the process of applying for this job is an online (HackerRank) test assessing your engineering mindset and (python) coding skills. No prior trading knowledge needed.
