What are you going to do?


Because we build all our systems in-house with our own integrated development teams, we could really use your knowledge and skills, helping us raise conversion and provide an accessible mobile-first experience to our clients.


Our flagship website www.vakantiediscounter.nl is stepping up to become a fully responsive state-of-the art customer experience for booking a holiday online. We want you to be part of this journey. Your HTML and CSS work is of great importance to allow for smooth product delivery. You will join us at our beautifully situated office in the center of Amsterdam and work in a real Agile environment together with highly motivated colleagues.


You will be working along with a feature driven team working within



  • Clojure and ClojureScript/React.js, for powering our website;

  • A/B experiments, for sensible decision making.

  • SASS


You will be pairing to write lots of (clean) code that goes to production continuously and will be spending ± 10% on private projects to find the next big thing


You will be part of the product team working closely together with the developers on HTML and CSS, and bridging the gap between the prototype/designs and our cutting edge code stack that consists of Ruby on Rails, React, Reagent, and ClojureScript. The team has a great focus on learning, and 10 percent of our time is spent in private projects to find the next big thing. You can be one of the developers in this international team that works closely together with all stakeholders to create value for our customers.


Skills And Qualifications


You are an enthusiastic front-end web developer with a great passion for your craft, and focus on improving yourself. You have an innovative mind and are able to find pragmatic solutions, while never losing sight of quality. You’re equally comfortable discussing business requirements with the product owner, pair programming with your colleagues, and writing well- engineered clean HTML and CSS.


What we expect from you:



  • 3+ years of experience as a professional developer

  • Solid experience in creating HTML markup

  • Solid experience in writing CSS (using Sass)

  • Experience with (vanilla!) JavaScript is a big plus

  • Version control using Git

  • Solid experience with responsive web design and development


Familiarity with these are a plus:



  • Experience in front-end development for touch devices

  • Knowledge of browser quirks and compatibility issues

  • An eye for consistency in design and behaviour

  • Experience in front-end performance optimization

  • Developing scalable web applications

  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements and methodology
