Job Summary:
Core Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to teams responsible for developing software and server applications in a Linux environment, including, architecting, developing, maintaining, and deploying server software for Cross-Platform Runtime Environment(XRE) Server application code and supported data services that power the video platform guide for Comcast's X1 platform; develop Java code that operates in a multi-threaded environment and supports thread pooling; utilize Core Java, XML, and JSON to develop software code for the XRE Server component of the X1 system; utilize Unified Modeling Language (UML) to model software designs; utilize HTTP/HTTPS protocols, including GET and POST, to secure network communications; review and analyze product and technical requirements provided in Product Epics; break down Product Epics into Engineering User Stories to identify the work that needs to be completed and create software designs to meet requirements; support software under development and customize current software; assist with the software updating process for existing applications; participate in code reviews and create unit and integration tests using Junit; triage and troubleshoot problems and defects in the development and production environments; manage user stories and defects in the Jira issue tracking and project management system;analyze product and technical requirements provided in user stories; design and implement performance optimizations; communicate functional and technical requirements and capabilities of the product to clients dependent on the XRE Server; and mentor and guide junior-level engineers.

Job Specification:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software in a Linux environment, including architecting and developing Java code that operates in a multi-threaded environment and supports thread pooling; triaging and troubleshooting issues in development and production environments; utilizing HTTP/HTTPS networking protocols; utilizing Core Java, XML, and JSON to develop software code; and utilizing UML to model software designs.
