Colaberry is a developer founded, developer run, company who is looking to add talented & passionate engineers to their team. Hoping the below synopsis provides you with a solid 30,000 ft view of what this work will entail. You'll perform hands-on, full stack, and full life-cycle application development, using a variety of modern application development frameworks, languages, and techniques. 


In this role you’ll be engineering microservices solutions to solve new cloud challenges around the ever-increasing data sprawl. Knowing you can’t forklift these applications overnight, cloud app’s are in need of on-prem data while on-prem app’s need cloud data. Your work will consist of designing and building cloud based platforms at scale. The goal of making this data accessible through various APIs and maximizing the use of cloud based assets.


You will contribute clean, quality, readable, and scalable code as part of this orchestration team. Co-leading with fellow conductors, teaching by doing, driving best practices around continuous improvement, and taking pride in shipping well-crafted software.  As an engineer, and someone who is extremely passionate about their craft, I thought something like this would excite you.


Responsibilities: 



  • Design applications using frameworks and available components to meet the requirements of the business and documentation of the design.

  • Assess and identify mitigation for risks including those related to high-level design, integration, and data quality.

  • Evaluate new products including prototyping and recommendation of new products.

  • Contribute to the definition of development and software standards to implement/reflect guidelines and ensure standards are adhered to.

  • Fix software defects/bugs.

  • Collaborate with Functional Analysts and Technical Specialists to complete work as required.


Qualifications:


1. Need:
- Software Engineering
(Any of the following): Java (Spring), Scala, Clojure, Erlang, Go, NodeJS, Python, or RoR
- Cloud (Any of the following): AWS, Hadoop, Azure, vSPhere, Google Cloud

2. Nice to have:
- Data & Data Messaging:
MySql, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, or Apache Kafka
- Provisioning:
Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack
- Web: (Modern Stack experience): AngularJS, ReactJS, EmberJS, Babel, Webpack, Bower, Grunt

3. Additional (Awesome if you had):

Cloud-Foundry Experience
- Creating and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos
