As a Senior Specialist, IAM Governance at Merck’s Austin IT HUB, you will be part of inventing tomorrow. Our Innovative centers are where great people come together and deliver solutions that save and improve lives.


As a member of the Information Technology Risk Management and Security - Identity and Access Management (IAM) Organization, the incumbent is responsible for providing technical leadership and service management in the execution and application of Merck’s IAM Governance Services. Serve as a liaison between other Information Security, Identity and Access Management Engineering, Application and Business Owners, IT Organizations, and vendors regarding IAM governance service usage, standards, security, and other technical matters.

The incumbent should be familiar with a range of IAM technologies including Directory Services, Provisioning, Identity and Access Management Governance and Access Controls. These services allow Merck to manage, connect and protect identity information for employees, contractors, partners and customers. The incumbent’s core responsibilities have global implications and will work with infrastructure and systems development areas throughout the company to provide the highest levels of protection services to the customer areas.


Primary Activities include but are not limited to:



  • Gather and understand divisional and site business requirements for IAM services

  • Maintain active and direct interaction with key customers

  • Assist in vendor and technology assessments

  • Drive adoption of identity access governance controls through working with business and technical stakeholders to ensure Merck’s applications have proper controls in place for managing privilege accounts, access reviews and access registration processes

  • Identify and Implement best practices for privilege account management, access requests and registration, access and account attestation

  • Participate in cross-functional project team where required, including Risk Management and Information Security project teams.

  • The incumbent will help develop best practice guides and procedures for IAM Governance services


Qualifications


Education:



  • Bachelors degree, desirable or equivalent experience in related area


Required:



  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience supporting enterprise technology and services with a demonstrated record of customer focus. .

  • Experience working with Microsoft Identity technologies.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions.

  • Understanding of Active Directory structure, including forest, domains, organization units, user identities and objects.

  • Familiar with Identity and Access Management lifecycle, concepts and technologies.

  • Ability to organize, manage and deliver assignments in a timely manner.

  • Practical experience with IAM technologies.

  • Understand information security and risk management concepts.

  • Ability to effectively communicate.

  • Ability to transfer a set of tasks into a documented process to achieve a defined outcome.

  • Working knowledge of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Demonstrated leadership in achieving shared objectives in working with cross-functional teams.

  • Skills in operating and supporting high quality technology products and services.


Preferred:



  • Microsoft certifications such as MCSA, MCSE.

  • Security certifications such as, CISSP.
