SmartSource is in need of an Active Directory Engineer for a 6-month contract in Minneapolis MN
Our client is consolidating their Windows Server Domain Services to an enterprise domain. Growth and acquisitions (latest with 4 new offices in Utah) will continue to add domains to consolidate.
There are 70 servers in the clients domain, with 22 running on Server 2008R2, which are to be moved to the new domain, and upgraded to a newer OS, as possible for each server and application. Several are SQL servers.
There is also a major Server 2008 elimination project, in which help may be needed. Up to 380 domain servers, including a large (150 server) Citrix farm, are in the scope of this project.
Upgraded servers are targeted to move to a VMWare virtual server, if not already virtualized.
We are requesting an experienced consultant to aid in:
- Testing and migration of application servers
- Testing and upgrade of OS from Server 2008 to Server 2012 or newer for application servers.
- Active Directory and other Windows Server related tasks, such as AD FS or Certificate issuance, as required
- Documentation and knowledge transfer / training, as requested.
PROJECT SCOPE
Engineer(s) will work as requested and instructed to handle any questions, configurations, documentation, implementation, support and day-to-day issues within its environment relative to its Windows Server migrations, Windows OS upgrades, other Windows Server tasks and documentation as required.
Work will be performed during standard business hours (Meaning 8AM-5PM, local time, Monday thru Friday, excluding Holidays).
All activities that could potentially cause a disruption of production services, such as software/firmware upgrades, device reboot/restart, and disruptive configuration changes will be performed after normal business hours during a scheduled maintenance window.
