Job Description
Forcepoint is looking for a Manager of Cloud Operations that will partner with our Director of Cloud Operations to plan, build, and run the Global Data Center footprint that powers our Cloud Services. This leader will ensure operational reliability of the stack with the right mix of systems engineering, automation, and operational maturity. The leader will implement and enforce performance and capacity management and closely work with engineering and product management business units to automate and scale deployment of mission critical, customer facing systems and services. The individual will also ensure that all ITIL processes and procedures for incident management, change management, problem management, and release management are defined and measured while keeping customer satisfaction as the focus area within the Operations team.
This is a critical leadership role that will regularly interact with multiple Business Units within Forcepoint. The candidate must be hands-on, able to thrive, and flourish in a fast-paced environment with a growth mindset. Most importantly, the candidate must have a customer-focused mindset and the ability to clearly communicate with varying levels of the organization.
Essential Functions
- Foster and grow a high performing Cloud Operations team with strong interpersonal skills
- Manage processes for ensuring availability, scalability and resiliency of on-premise and public cloud infrastructure
- Ensure all agreed upon Service Level Objectives and Service Level Agreements are achieved and reported on a periodic basis
- Own end-to-end deployment processes to production working closely with the development teams, participating in integration and regression testing
- Represent cloud operations team on change management meetings for any changes to production environment
- Deploy, maintain, and improve monitoring solutions across the production stack and provide technical resolutions and root cause analysis for high severity incidents
- Operationalize and enhance simple, repeatable and scalable system configuration solutions leveraging automation working closely with engineering and software development teams
- Update and maintain documentation for all configurations for the production environment
- Develop and deliver timely reports on all agreed upon infrastructure metrics including but not limited to availability, capacity, performance, and latency across all production systems deployed on-premise or on public cloud
- Conduct operational reviews on a periodic basis with direct reports and senior management
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience related to Information Technology
- 5+ Years in an Infrastructure Operations management role supporting IaaS, SaaS, and/or PaaS services
- Prior management experience managing globally dispersed teams required
- Prior Infrastructure / Cloud and DevOps experience required
- Experience managing heterogeneous environments running Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows based and Virtual (VMware, KVM, Xen) environments
- Experience managing a Hybrid Cloud environment supporting a global customer base
- Experience with containerization and container orchestration especially with Dockers, Kubernetes or AWS ECS
- Experience maintaining and managing Spark, Kafka, Cassandra / Druid, and MySQL based systems running on-premise or on AWS/Azure
- Skilled with any configuration and automation toolsets such as Puppet, Chef and Ansible
- Experience with leading ITSM toolsets such as ServiceNow
- Monitoring and alerting platforms such as Nagios, Graphite, Data Dog, Prometheus or ScienceLogic required
- Good understanding of IP Networking technologies such as DNS, DHCP, WAN routing, and switching preferred
