Our Detroit Client is adding a DBA to their development team. In this role you will optimizes database access, indexes, views and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost. This person will work in both pre-production as well as in the production environment. Candidates are expected to have experience implementing changes and making enhancements based on information from the business or business liaisons. This position requires good written and verbal communication skills. Our Client is doing a lot of work within their DW/BI environment.
Must Haves:
- 5+ years as a SQL Server DBA primarily in a support role not just new development
- Experience with SQL, SSIS, T-SQL programming, SQL job agent setup & configuration
- Must have at least one year of Datawarehouse support experience
- Experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting
- Must have strong support experience and the desire to mainly do support
- Ability to work off hours in 24X7 production support environment
- Bachelor's degree required
Nice to Haves:
- DW/BI experience (Qlik, Power BI, Etc)
- Hadoop and or SharePoint experience a big plus
- Experience in data modeling of fact and dimension tables to create efficient star schemas
- Experience of Microsoft Technologies, including .Net, SSMS, SSRS and SSAS
