Associate Software Engineer
Our Fortune 100 retail client is looking to add Associate Software Engineers to their innovative e-commerce team. The team embodies a features-first focus, and provides an awesome opportunity for mentorship and a culture of learning.
A successful candidate will have hands-on development experience paired with a willingness to learn new technologies, specifically with React.
What you will do:
- Contribute to the design, development, deployment and support of software to create business value.
- Implement software in the Services ecosystem, using open-source solutions with a focus on customer experience, sophistication and scale.
- Assist the team in adding enhancements to our system, refactoring technical debt, and researching new technologies and frameworks.
- Join an agile team; participating in stand-ups, iteration planning, design reviews and other typical agile ceremonies.
- Be a valuable teammate, yet be capable of working independently on your own initiative.
- Take an active role in identifying process issues and suggestions for improvement.
- Learn and teach others. The team is built on the premise that learning is never-ending and essential.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science from an accredited university
- 1+ year of experience developing customer-facing software in a service-oriented architecture, with concentrations in:
- Experience programming for concurrency & scalability
- Knowledge of integrating with RESTful web services
- Foundational understanding of Test-driven development
- Experience in client-side web application technologies (JavaScript / HTML / CSS)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on teams using agile methodologies
- Knowledge of or interest in learning Node.js and React/Redux
- Knowledge of or interest in learning testing tools such as Enzyme and Jest
