TITLE: Principal Software Engineer
LOCATION: Atlanta, Georgia or Remote within US

We are searching for a seasoned software engineer/architect with ten, or more, years experience in Java development, including:

• complex system integration
• multiple database: SQL Server 2014 Enterprise and higher is primary. Postgres Secondary.
• user interface technologies
• component technology selection
• last line of support debugging

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• leading the development and maintenance efforts
• translating concepts among various implementation technologies, i.e. between Java and C#, or Subversion and Git
• analyzing business requirements and generating technical designs to meet these requirements
• designing feature implementations and evolve them through multiple agile development cycle
• evaluating competing technologies to use in a solution implementation and presenting the findings of pros and cons to teams with both technical and non-technical backgrounds
• providing client facing support for issues reported
  • Deliver solutions for problems where there may be no one else to call
  • Depending on the issue severity and client location, may occur during non-business hours
• teaching/sharing technology knowledge to develop junior team members
  • Break down difficult concepts to relatively simple and teachable components
  • Standardize methodologies, coding practice, tool usage
  • Increase the teams overall capability

REQUIREMENTS:

• Familiarity with the following:
  • Maven
  • Jenkins
  • Eclipse
  • Hibernate
  • Jooq
  • Websphere
  • Active Directory
  • GWT
  • SmartGWT
  • aspect oriented programming
• The successful candidate will:
  • have extensive experience in web application and system design
  • have experience in the banking/finance industry, specifically in treasury management billing, a plus
  • possess excellent communication skills and strong technical knowledge from architecture to deployment
  • set and achieve goals and objectives with little supervision
  • prioritize and work well in an environment with changing priorities
