Who are we?
In the Volvo Cars Consumer Connectivity Services team (CCS), we build mobile services to make life easier, like effortless car sharing, deliveries directly to your car, and moving your car to where it needs to be. The team is located in Sweden, the US and China, and many of the people you will be working with have experience from global tech companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars.
What youll do
In this role, you will work on the cloud components of user facing products such as car sharing, in-car delivery or electric car charging. In addition, you can expand to working on these services in mobile apps, wearables, voice assistants and in-car applications.Tasks will span all the way from early concepts tobuildingfinalizedhigh-end products. You will work with teams across the company, across the globe, across many functions, such as UX, product management, and business development, and with external companies, like in our delivery collaboration with Amazon.
Who you are
We are looking for experienced back-end developers with an agile development mindset. You should have experience of building cloud services for user facing applications, and ideally of back-ends for mobile apps with 100K+ users. You are experienced in back-end development, including areas such as microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, data models, persistence layers,backend services(RESTAPIs),app frameworks,caching and messaging services, networking, security, integration with partner and third-party APIs. You are proficient in at least one of Java, GoLang or Python. You have at least a BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential.
