Summary

Comcast Technology Solutions is hiring an experienced Data Architect to work closely with our product and development teams to recommend database warehousing, storage and retrieval needs to support both external and internal customer needs.  The Data Architect will be responsible for design of a data warehouse and data marts, establishing principle and procedures, and ensuring data quality. The successful candidate will effectively communicate designs and facilitate discussion of data requirements across various audiences, including product management, product architects, development teams, and executives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Competent and proven skills to transform and map data from raw data from various sources into another format that can be easily accessed by Tableau, MS SQL, Splunk, and other analytics tools.  
  • Responsible for the detailed design of the enterprise data warehouse and data marts from inception through production support, including the establishment of principles and procedures as well as documentation, review and final sign-off of the data models and data marts.
  • Responsible for establishing guidelines for technical requirements, documenting system design elements such as models, specifications and diagrams, and for all processes that are directly related to data model artifacts, including the logical mapping of the source to the target and physical modeling
  • Design, tune, maintain and support data systems for highly available, high-volume Internet applications
  • Works with Product Management to understand the business requirements and business processes, design data warehouse schema and define extract-translate-load and/or extract-load-translate processes for the warehouse.
  • Ensure quality, coverage and accuracy of data. Validate data quality content in conjunction with leveraging reports and tools to monitor and visualize data. 
  • Conduct quality assurance and audit on all data.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis for data issues. 
  • Interact with all levels of people including Product Managers, Engineers, Customer Support and Project Managers to support their needs.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Tableau Server Version (and OEM capabilities)
  • AWS data services
  • Google Analytics
  • Splunk
  • Advanced familiarity with SQL language
  • Advanced level of Linux / UNIX experience
  • Proven experience designing and configuring database replication and clustering
  • Strong experience with database performance analysis, capacity sizing and optimization
  • Solid understanding of database replication/high availability, storage engines, system performance and benchmarking, performance analysis and capacity management
  • Understanding of, or experience with NoSQL systems such as MongoDB or Cassandra
  • Experience designing scalable software and database architecture to support customer growth
  • Cable Video Industry Knowledge
  • Kubernetes

Job Specification:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Engineering, Computer Science
- Generally requires 7-11 years related experience
