HERE's Core Map Engineering (CME) Places Ingestion Pipeline division is responsible for identifying Points Of Interest (Places) by processing large volumes of raw data from a variety of sources using Machine Learning and Heuristics Models to improve the content coverage, accuracy, and freshness. You will be working with an energetic and dedicated team that works on challenging tasks in distributed processing of large data sets & big data/streaming technologies which runs on Java/Hadoop/Spark/AWS. As a team member, your responsibilities span the entire software development process to include:
- Develop full stack applications/services/tools/script to process big data in Java/Hadoop/Spark/AWS.
- Design and critique others designs of classes and software component interactions.
- Mentor junior engineers to develop quality code and review the design/code.
- Build out systems to monitor deployed workflows and alert/handle failures.
- Identifying, Investigating, Analyzing and correcting software defects and contributing to process improvements.
You are a fast learner, with an eye for detail, strong problem-solving and debugging skills, and the following:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
- 7+ years of programming experience Java, and JEE technologies.
- Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented design concepts and exposure to modern design patterns.
- Ability to effectively function in a constantly changing environment.
- Strong analytical, creative problem-solving and communication skills.
