Leading travel and tourism company specialising in facilitating exceptional travel and vacation deals is looking to hire a IT Systems admin with strong automation experience to join the team in their Toronto office

Your new role
As a systems Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the enterprise compute infrastructure including VMWare, Windows servers, Windows applications and Windows web servers as well as multiple .NET applications, both web and other, as well as web load balancers.
Moreover you will be running a Windows web infrastructure at scale along with configuring, installing, integrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting of VMWare and tools, Windows server, IIS, storage arrays, etc.Your new role will require you to asses and optimise the server and coordinating service calls and working with vendors to resolve problems and malfunctions.You will be responsible in configuring, documenting and managing system security and access control including incident response and escalation, security policy articulation and compliance checking. Performing system performance evaluation, monitoring and optimisation along with troubleshooting internal and external system problems will be a major aspect of your role

What you'll need to succeed

• At least two years of hands on experience with
• • VMWare with vCenter, vMotion, HA and snapshots
  • Windows Server technologies
  • Backup and restore using commonly available tools
  • IIS and .NET web applications at scale on large, high performance ecommerce websites
  • Server and application performance monitoring tools, configuration and techniques
  • Windows performance monitoring and optimization
  • Storage arrays (SAN) and network storage (NAS)
  • Web load balancing - F5 experience is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with Powershell and Windows scripting technologies, with the ability to independently create Powershell scripts.
• Experience in deploying .NET web applications to test, staging and production.
• A deep understanding of the above technologies and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a complex technical environment.
• Basic networking concepts
• Basic Cisco switch configuration skills are an asset
• Vey well organized, with excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to details
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills with a team player attitude and ability to provide positive customer service
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently, very good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks for multiple concurrent projects
• Maintain service coverage for the 24x7 production environment
