Software Engineer at METER Group, Inc. USA (Pullman, WA)

METER Group, Inc. USA is looking for an entry to mid-level Software Engineer to join its METER Food Division. The ideal candidate will have experience with and passion for creating, designing, and writing desktop and web application software. The METER Food Division designs software and hardware products used in the food industry to measure and monitor food quality and safety in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities:



  • Design, code, and debug desktop and web applications with minimal oversight and direction

  • Participate in code reviews and on a Scrum team

  • Analyze requirements, define and prioritize tasks, and contribute to program management

  • Write documentation and requirements for QA to test deliverables

  • Contribute to and maintain design and user documentation


Minimum Qualifications:



  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience

  • 0-5 years of software development experience

  • Experience with Python (a coding exercise will be required as part of the interview process)

  • Database experience

  • Experience with web front-end software development (Django preferred)

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States and be willing to relocate to Pullman, WA (no remote candidates considered)

  • Background check results satisfactory to METER

  • At least three professional or academic references


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Front-end web development experience with Django

  • Experience with defect tracking tools

  • Experience with revision control systems (e.g., Subversion, Mercurial, Git, etc.)

  • Customer support experience
