Kickserv, part of Reach Local/Gannett is seeking a DevOps engineer with a passion for squeezing out as much performance as possible from cloud infrastructure.
You will own the infrastructure Kickserv runs on and will help us scale to the next level. You will monitor the stack and respond to metric trends. While you may not be digging directly into the application code, you will assist the development team in debugging performance issues.
If you are always looking for a way to get even one more request cycle out of your existing infrastructure, we need to talk.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor server stack and respond to changes in metrics (e.g. load time)
- Work with and write Chef recipes and Docker images
- Study and monitor NewRelic RPM and Sumologic
- Assist the development team in scaling up and out
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills Required:
- AWS (Opsworks, RDS, EC2, CloudFront, S3, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS)
- Chef (for Opsworks)
- Docker
Bonus points if you have:
- PostgreSQL experience
- Ruby experience (outside of Chef)
