About the Service Operations Storage Team
The Service Operations Storage team within Arm is seeking a highly-motivated automation engineer to join us to work alongside fellow team members and others within the global IT technical teams to deliver against key responsibilities within the Storage team. This team works closely with its internal customers and key partners to prioritise, plan, and execute a number of strategic projects as well as providing operations support for the global storage infrastructure.
Arm designs the technology that lays at the heart of advanced digital products, from wireless, networking and consumer entertainment solutions to imaging, automotive, security and storage devices. As a world leader in processor design, Arm’s success is based on licensing agreements with many of the biggest names in consumer electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
About the Role
You will join a global storage team with the responsibility to automate common storage tasks - you will look to automate repeatable problems, develop self-healing automation and aim to automate 'Bare Metal' equipment all the way through to production. Additionally, you will collaborate with existing storage specialists to automate storage technologies such as NetApp, Isilon and Tintri.
Job Requirements
What will you do everyday?
- You will automate common repeatable incidents wherever possible.
- You will update storage orchestration via Service now requests
- You will support the general administration and support storage technologies.
- Monitor the health of storage technologies and rectify issues.
- Software and firmware upgrades of the storage infrastructure.
- You will co-ordinate installation of storage hardware in datacenters as required.
- You will work with Arm’s engineering divisions to rectify issues and streamline their interaction with storage.
What essential skills, qualification and experiences do you need?
- You will have a degree or equivalent higher level education or previous employment within the IT industry.
- You will have coding / development experience
- You will have technical capability and desire to learn new skills.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Professional attitude, with good attention to detail.
- You are dedicated and pragmatic with regards to problem solving.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Desirable skills & Experience
- You will have experience working with Ansible or other automation tools like (Puppet, Salt Stack or Chef)
- Experience with cloud based storage is a plus
- Your software defined storage experience is solid
- Experience of working within global teams.
- Experience with one or more of the following storage vendors such as NetApp, Isilon, or Tintri
