Where does the role fit in Travelport Digital?



  • Working in a focused team of experienced server & mobile developers, testers & designers, you will be responsible for the end to end delivery of Travelport Digital’s next generation of mobile applications.

  • Working closely with several teams to deliver a product solution to many customers frequently


What will I be doing?



  • Designing and delivering new and reusable features in an agile team

  • Develop flexible RESTful services (Spring Boot)

  • Integrate with diverse travel systems across Airlines, Hotels etc.

  • Using different tools for continuous integration and continuous delivery

  • Focus on continually applying high coding standards through code reviews, excellent attention to detail and a methodological work process

  • Help track our frequent releases and ensure our release processes are followed

  • Contribute to test automation using Cucumber, Postman, etc.

  • Explore emerging technologies through R&D initiatives from time to time

  • Research & identify new technologies to drive internal innovation

  • Coach developers through code reviews and white-boarding sessions

  • Be that person who gets involved on designing and implementing solutions, working in collaboration with other team members and architects


Skills and Experience:



  • Have a minimum of 5+ years (post-graduation) Java development experience

  • Proven ability to deliver software on-time and with high quality

  • Solid experience in latest Java server side development essential (Java 7 or 8)

  • Experience working with Spring and NodeJS is a distinctive advantage

  • Exposure to mobile technologies for iOS and Android (objective-c, swift, java) would be an advantage

  • Exposure to web technologies (Angular2, typescript) would be an advantage

  • Experience with continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins, Sonar) and automated deployment (e.g. Ansible) an advantage

  • Strong Database knowledge in either SQL or ideally NoSQL (e.g. Mongo)

  • Good understanding of usability principles, particularly as applied to mobile devices

  • Life in Travelport Digital is fast paced and dynamic – the ideal applicant will have worked in a similar development environment and be able to handle multiple responsibilities

  • Quality & high standards really matter to us - you will focus on continually applying high coding standards, excellent attention to detail and a methodological work process.

  • Desirable knowledge in Gradle, Groovy and Agile (Scrum preferably).
