DUTIES: Contribute to a team responsible for maintaining Comcast's Workflow Services systems and environments, used to ingest and publish customers' media content, in support of the Video-on-Demand Syndication platform; provide software designs, coding, quality assurance, and operational support for software services that ingest and publish media content; develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) for software modules; utilize Java to design, code, and test new software features and service enhancements; utilize Spring framework, MySQL, Maven, and Agile methodologies to develop software; identify areas for code refactoring and system improvements; write unit and integration tests; review, analyze, and decompose Workflow Services system requirements into actionable JIRA engineering tasks; define design, coding, test, and acceptance requirements necessary to complete software development projects; participate in code review and provide technical feedback; and mentor entry-level engineers.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and two (2) years of experience designing, coding, and testing systems software using one of these programming languages: Java/C++/JavaScript/PHP; and developing micro-services and/or service-oriented architecture (SOA) for software modules; of which one (1) year must include utilizing MySQL, one of these package managers: npm/Composer/Maven, and Agile methodologies to develop systems software.
