The Software Systems Engineering team works with external and internal customers of the Scientific Computing group to discover user needs, translate those needs to product requirements, and develop tests to ensure those user needs are being met. The team also supports the sales and support teams as they develop marketing collateral and support documentation for our software products.
This is a great position for someone with a technical background in bioinformatics, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field looking to move into a more commercial-oriented role with a specific interest in gaining experience in product marketing and software project management.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Solicit customer requirements and feedback for SomaLogic software solutions
- Define software product requirements and provide sufficient detail for implementation by the development team
- Define validation and verification (V&V) tests to ensure that product requirements and user needs have been met
- Work with the Software Development team during implementation, providing regular feedback on development builds
- Maintain and oversee design history file (DHF) submissions for clinical software products
- Work with business development to establish partnerships with 3rd party software providers with offerings relevant to providing customers a complete solution
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Skills and experience
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years of experience with regulated systems (design control, FDA, CAP/CLIA) is required.
- Experience with systems engineering, requirements analysis, software quality, and V&V
- Experience verifying a software product meets specifications through manual and automated testing is required
- Experience developing automated tests using tools such as Cucumber or Selenium
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Familiarity with software development processes including agile development methods
- Familiarity with proteomic, genomics, or other high dimensionality biological data sets and tools is preferred
Work Environment:
We are a fun and passionate team from diverse backgrounds with an informal office work environment. Our work environment favors the curious with frequent company seminars covering all parts of the business, technical elements of our technology and scientific applications of our technology. The SomaLogic campus consists of several buildings adjacent to each other with occasional meetings spread over the campus. This position involves extended time at a computer and frequent informal meetings and discussions with developers, users, and customers. Some travel and teleconferencing required for partner and customer face-to-face meetings.
Some travel to customer and partner sites will be required, anticipated to be 10% or less.
