HbbTV is a SmartTV standard installed on almost all modern TV sets. As soon the TV set is connected to the internet our HbbTV applications can be started right away from TV program. This is why HbbTV is a strategic platform for the ProSiebenSat.1 Group with a high management focus.
As a part of our developer team you will develop the HbbTV applications that will run on 10 million TV sets in German households. You will be part of the vivid JavaScript community in Munich and share our passion for new technologies and high-quality code. Together with your colleagues from the business intelligence, ad-tech and DevOps department you will develop the future of TV.
Our mindset

- We prefer node.js on the backend but use PHP for small tasks

Your tasks
- You will develop new apps and extent our existing apps
- On Node.js or PHP you’ll develop our backend services for millions of users per day
- Help us integrate NoSQL databases like Redis
- You’ll work on deploying our apps on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Test driven development with mocha or similar frameworks
- Testing and debugging the HbbTV apps on modern TV sets
- You integrate Ad-server and tracking
Your skills
- You enjoy coding in JavaScript, node.js and know how to work in a test-driven development team (TDD)
- Ideally you have a few years of professional experience as a software developer in an online / digital company
- You love to work in a dynamic and fast-growing environment
- A completed degree with focus on IT or a similar qualification is a plus
