Description:
Work closely with major Semiconductor and Display customers to develop product applications using INFICON Sensors and Software. Act as a technical consultant and advise field Engineer or customers on application BKMs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop product Applications on various semiconductor and display manufacturing equipment tools. Interpret Gas Analysis and other sensor data to characterize, optimize and trouble shoot semiconductor equipment and processes
- Work with field applications to create custom integration solutions for new and existing INFICON solutions. Act as a technical consultant and advise field Engineer or customers on application BKMs.
- Interact cross-functionally with local Sales & Support team, factory engineering and product management to ensure alignment with customer's needs.
- Trouble shoot critical product performance issues at the hardware level and monitor health of equipment installed base via periodic audits
- Participate in customer meetings, escalations and new opportunity discussions
- Interface internally with Product and Account Management to communicate technical requirements and recommendations as parts of the solution development process where off-the-shelf solutions may not be an ideal fit
- Routinely interface with counterparts in other locations to leverage new opportunities
- Provide written and verbal feedback to product management on a regular basis in areas of: Customer needs and satisfaction levels, industry technological and economic trends, new applications and product opportunities, product design features, competitive activity (product, pricing, etc.) and recommendations for and improvements to INFICON sales and technical literature
- Collect, analyze and present data and findings, perform Design of Experiments (DOE’s) based on Return of Investment (ROI) for customers
- Document laboratory work and equipment evaluations of INFICON and competitor instruments
- Develop and present presentations to customers regarding products and applications
- Write application bulletins and technical articles to be published in conjunction with the Corporate Communications Department
Qualifications:
- Master degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics with 3 or more years of experience in the area of semiconductor manufacturing process or equipment engineering. Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics is desirable.
- Possess a very strong understanding of semiconductor processes and tools, yield improvements and have the ability to think outside the box
- Excellent listening, communication and problem solving skills including verbal, written and presentation
- Must possess Excellent interpersonal skills
- Computer networking, Residual Gas Analysis, optical emission spectrometers, and/or RF experience is preferred
- Ability to adapt to various field situations and to foster strong relationships with internal and external customers
