Are you a MS SQL Server DBA looking for an opportunity to work within a high calibre technical team, to work with cutting edge technologies and to work on a range of exciting projects? We are a workforce management platform making employee scheduling, communication, time tracking and HR management simple, and we are looking for an experienced DBA/SQL expert to join the team in either in London or Copenhagen!

Have you built out the data platform that drives a high growth, high throughput SaaS business before, if so read on. Planday is on a scaling journey and needs a person to lead the direction and day to day operations of our database estate, as well building out our data analysis platform.

You will need:

  • a proven track record of scaling data platforms from small databases to multiple large DBs
  • experience of managing the maintenance of 100s of databases
  • to have migrated multiple databases to SQL Azure
  • to understand optimisation on many different levels (cost, infrastructure, Server, network/disk IO, SQLServer, data storage, query plans, indexes, etc)
  • a passion for technology
  • a passion for learning
  • to be security aware

What you will be doing:

  • Creating and running maintenance routines
  • Migrating multiple large databases to Azure
  • Building out replication and high availability capabilities
  • Building disaster recovery strategies
  • Advising on/implementing encryption and security measures to protect data both at rest and in transit
  • Advise on development practices for writing sql or using sql frameworks
  • cost management on data related resources
  • Building out Planday's data analysis capabilities (data lakes, warehouses, etc)
