We're looking for a Lead Software Test Engineer to join our successful and growing team to help us further develop our product range. The successful candidate will be a capable manual and automated tester, who wants to help GeoSLAM build a flexible and highly skilled QA team over the next 6-12 months, as well as doing hands-on testing themselves.
Working on multiple projects, the successful candidate will have a broad range of testing activities to complete, will work on all stages of the software development lifecycle and support developers to create high quality, tested software.
Example tasks the successful candidates will be required to perform (depending on experience)
- Recruit, lead and develop a team of manual and automation testers;
- Ensure the software works as we expect it to;
- Help define what the software should do by asking questions not obvious to the rest of the team;
- Speed up development by helping to clearly development requirements and by testing tickets during sprints against those requirements;
- Prevent regression of the software.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable experience of manual testing and writing structured automated tests
- An understanding of the test lifecycle (planning, execution, analysis, reporting)
Desirable:
- Experience of leading a QA team
- An exposure to source code management tools
- Experience of software project management tools, e.g. Jira
- Development in one or more of: C++, javascript, python, bash, docker.
- Experience working in a continuous integration/DevOps environment
