AppleCares Field Diagnostic Engineering team is responsible for the development of diagnostic tools for all of Apples mobile products. These tools are deployed to Apples Geniuses and field service technicians globally and are essential in helping customers and directing repair solutions. Our work is highly integrated with iOS and we work closely with a variety of hardware and software technology teams across Apple on all new products prior to their launch.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the efforts of Field Diagnostics development for mobile devices. You'll be leading teams in defining, developing and guiding validation of mobile diagnostics. The scope of our work encompasses the iOS product line including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, HomePod, AirPod, iPod, Beats, and other accessories.

Key Qualifications:
5+ years leading an engineering team and consistent track record shipping world-class solutions in a rapidly changing environment
10+ years in software or information systems (cloud) development.
You have the ability to lead a team of exceptional engineers and challenge them to strive for high level goals and outputs.
Experience crafting high level client/server system architectures and APIs.
You can innovate and develop creative solutions embracing many broad technologies
Experience presenting high level engineering projects to executive and senior leaders.
You are a skilled troubleshooter with the ability to get to root cause efficiently.
Experience crafting, developing or using diagnostics and ideas to integrate automated diagnostic solutions with manual troubleshooting steps.
You have the ability to deep dive on complex issues and design simple clean solutions.
You are experienced in software/systems development with Objective-C, C or Java server side libraries.
You have strong user documentation skills and software validation (QA) experience.
Experience working in support and/or service organizations.
You have a real passion for user experience and interface design to create the best users and customer experience.
You have experience developing and designing expert systems, machine learning or AI, a plus.

You will lead and integrate software engineers and user experience designers to build solutions to assist service and support staff to remedy a customer issue. You will also collaborate and work cross-functionally with other engineering groups, channel services and Information System development teams to drive projects toward completion. In addition, this position will lead information systems development from start to finish to ensure high level strategy and vision is documented into system requirements, developed, and validated with QA.
