(SENIOR) DATA SCIENTIST @ BI X at BI X GmbH (Ingelheim am Rhein, Germany)

THE ROLE

As a Data Scientist at BI X, you will work with large and complex data sets related to human and animal health. You will solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems by applying advanced methods. As part of a young, dedicated team you create a combination of solutions, new hypotheses and product approaches based on both new and existing real-world data.

You will help to expand the current analytic capabilities and design new strategies and applications within a dynamic innovative organization. You'll apply state-of-the-art advanced analytic and quantitative tools and modelling techniques to derive insights, solve complex problems and improve decisions.

PREREQUISITES

• 
  
• Masters, PhD or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (mathematics, computer science, engineering, etc.)
• 
  
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in data science and machine learning
• 
  
• English working proficiency and communication skills (verbal and written)
• 
  

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

• 
  
• Professional experience in implementing and deploying machine learning solutions, using various types of models such as classification, regression and clustering
• 
  
• Fluency in R or Python’s statistical packages such as pandas, statsmodels, etc.
• 
  
• Professional development experience with programming languages in any of Java, JavaScript, Scala or Python
• 
  
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL database systems
• 
  
• Experience with large data sets and distributed computing such as Hive, Hadoop, Spark, etc.
• 
  
• Experience with visualization software like Tableau or R Shiny as well as knowledge in scripting languages like PHP or Perl is a plus
•
