ArdentMC is looking for an experienced and motivated technical leader to grow both our business and technical staff; helping develop our technical teams by enabling and working alongside them on best practices, solution architecture, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present designs of widely varying size and complexity. In collaboration with business development, the expectation is to drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers by contributing technical content and solutions to proposals. Demonstrate the ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

Need to be technically capable and credible as well as be effective in shaping the customer and solutions-focused skills of project teams. Enjoy learning and introducing new technology in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt new technology. Help assist project team members ramp-up on new initiatives as well as develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. Adept at interacting, communicating and partnering across technical teams within the organization, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Serve as a visionary leader, builder and operator who is comfortable at the intersection of technology and business. Experience leading or contributing to multiple simultaneous product development efforts. Balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business acumen about technology choices. Strive for simplicity, demonstrating significant creativity and high judgment. Diverse competencies across many areas of technology and deep in a handful of areas. Mastery of the fundamentals and the ability to learn complex new technologies quickly. Must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology. The ability to connect technology with measureable business value is critical in this role. Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. Desire to keep existing technical skills honed and developing new ones in order to make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions and implementations.

Interact with technical project teams, project managers, and customers. Meet with developers, team leads, engineering directors, and CxOs. Moderate tone and technical depth based on audience and solid ability to pick up on non-verbal communication. Work across multiple projects and proposal teams and should have a proven ability to prioritize workload and manage time as appropriate, keeping stakeholders informed and commitments met. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about technology and have the drive and capability to absorb and retain vast amounts of deep technical information continuously.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Hire, on-board, train, and develop new technical staff members

  • As a key member of the technical BD team, ensure success in developing solutions for proposals and writing technical content

  • Coach technical staff in the skills needed to flourish so they can build deep technical skills as they advance in their careers

  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge across the project teams

  • Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other customer facing guidance and best practices

  • Build deep relationships with decision makers within customer accounts

  • Share customer feedback to internal leadership to address project / staffing concerns

  • Work with project teams to drive technical solutions to completion

  • Technology Breadth: demonstrate architectural best practices applied across a breadth of technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views/roadmaps for future development, and understand the interaction between infrastructure, operations, and development


  • A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics

  • 10+ years of Experience overall and 3+ years in a technical leadership role.

  • 5+ years design/implementation/consulting/DevOps experience with distributed applications

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, or big data/analytics, or database architecture/administration, or infrastructure architecture and networking Experience building technical teams including hiring, training, development, coaching and mentoring

  • Experience building industry and technology solutions

  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers

  • Outstanding customer relationship management experience and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges

  • Compile, deliver, and evangelize end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformation

  • Influence stakeholders and ensure compliance within many technology domains that comply with technical and business requirements

  • Serve as a subject matter expert to guide technology strategy by convincing decision makers across multiple domains and working with architects in each domain

  • Know Infrastructure and application discovery tools, have worked with industry leading computer and database migration tools, have worked on data center or application migration projects.

  • Repeated success leading architecturally significant projects from inception through launch, including communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and produce technical designs

  • Demonstrated expertise in system-level design, and experience with web services and service oriented architectures

  • Must have excellent communications skills; both written and verbal Strong computer science fundamentals (OO design, data structures & algorithms, problem solving)

  • Experience supporting the US federal, state, or local government as well as the US military

  • Understanding of US Federal Mandates, Security, Standards and Compliance for designing large scale Cloud Computing Solutions

  • Domain expertise in one or more of the following: Security, Compliance, Testing, Software Development, Networking, and Operations

  • Experience with big data systems, such as Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.

  • Experience with Agile engineering practices (continuous integration, TDD, etc.)

  • Ability to travel, including out of state, up to 10% of the time
