Hach is seeking a Lead Firmware Engineer who will lead the development of firmware used in our industry leading water quality analysis instrumentation. We are looking for an experienced leader (Scrum Master) that has lead and mentored a technically strong team. The Lead Firmware Engineer will have 10+ years of relevant, current experience and expert knowledge in embedded C/C++, OOD & OOP and a strong background in software architecture and design, as well as experience with a variety of microprocessors.
Essential Functions:
- Designs, develops, modifies and implements software applications for embedded and desktop environments.
- Designs, develops, modifies, implements and executes unit tests and automated tests.
- Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems
- Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
- Actively tracks developments in the software community and incorporates them where appropriate
- Works with business unit to evaluate and make recommendations on open innovation opportunities
- Owns definition of overall product software architectures
- Drives use of common components across software solutions
- Coordinates across development efforts to ensure consistency and leverage of common technologies
- Reviews design and development efforts by other teams to ensure adherence to standards
- Plans, designs, and carries out programs, projects, studies, or other work independently.
- Provides expertise in the core scientific or engineering discipline to all areas of Hach and provides information on strategic planning, acquisitions, and technology evaluation.
