The role. We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer, experienced in manual testing, hardware setup and maintenance, development of tools for performance testing and development of Test Automation. The team you will be joining develops common components in our products that use Intel and NVIDIA hardware for video and audio processing. These are video and audio decoders/encoders and other components that are used throughout our products. You will be testing all parts of our product primarily on Windows but also on Linux platform. There will be some amount of C# developing as well for Test Automation and our performance measuring tool.
The team. You will be expected to take active part in the life of a no-nonsense Scrum Team, where we have an open and transparent communication both within and outside the team. The role offers an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in making sure we release thoroughly tested products and come up with ideas on how to improve and expand the tools we use. You will also be responsible for sub deliveries within the team and other teams as needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining internal tools and hardware
- Implementation of Test Automation features
- Manual testing of our product
- Ensuring collaboration within the team and company
Job tasks:
- Ensuring that the hardware is available and is up to date (windows/driver updates)
- Designing and developing internal performance measuring tools
- Creating manual testing lists and performing manual testing of our product
- Measuring performance during development cycles
- Ensuring correct tests are listed as tasks on user stories
- Designing and developing Test Automation using our infrastructure
- Customer bug reproduction and troubleshooting
Personal qualifications. Working in an agile environment (SCRUM) requires that you are open-minded, susceptible to change and willing to learn from your mistakes. We expect you to respect your colleagues, speak up when needed and take responsibility for the task at hand. You must be able to evaluate problems, provide support to other team members, and ultimately ensure that our software is tested thoroughly.
Preferred skills and competencies:
- Basic C# knowledge
- Understanding of version control concepts and workflows using TFS
- Excellent English skills in writing and speaking
- Knowledge of hardware setup, have tried to assemble a computer
- Understanding of how hardware setup can impact performance
- Working knowledge of Scrum process would be a plus
