You’re a DevOps / Platform Infrastructure Engineer who knows his way around different Cloud Platforms and CI/CD Processes. You have a passion for the DevOps, SRE, cloud and automation. You love building and operating the Infrastructure. You possess “you built it, you run it” mentality and would like to challenge yourself in helping us to build our Platform, tools and kits as you understand how software teams should operate efficiently.
DevOps Infrastructure Engineer (m/f) - Platform Automation
The smava’s Platform Engineering Team is building a Platform Infrastructure on top of a public cloud for our 100+ software engineers. We are aggressively migrating from Spring MVC to Spring Boot, microservices, React.js, and event-driven architectures. Our self-service platform vision is to allow developers to provision their own services and enable them to operate them robustly in production using Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins and Ansible.
You will join a team lead by our heavily experienced VP of Platform who took part in one of the most successful Europe’s leading eCommerce platforms before!
Your daily business:
- Implement automation of toil and boring, repetitive tasks
- Build and run the platform our software teams need for “you build it, you run it”
- Lifting us to the cloud with immutable infrastructure-as-code and self-service tools
- Making our microservice infrastructure play well together
- Coaching the software engineers on how to use our platform infrastructure
- To get things done you must have:
- Proven track of actions with Kubernetes or Docker
- AWS, GCloud or relevant Cloud technology experience
- Strong experience in tools like: Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Chef or Puppet
- Python, Groovy
- CI, Jenkins
- Relevant university STEM education
- Fluency in English

- System administration and maintenance background
- Istio, Envoy
- Microservices
- Kibana, Splunk, Prometheus
Awesome to have:
- Java, Go
- PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis
