Senior AWS Systems Engineer at Noggin (Sydney, Australia)

Why become Noggin's Senior AWS Systems Engineer?

We have an exciting and newly created opportunity for a Senior AWS Systems Engineer to come on board and be our in-house AWS expert.

You'll be joining a strong, capable and delivery focused infrastructure team. In this role you will be working closely with our tech leaders, engineers and architects to ensure that Noggin's AWS (and broader) infrastructure are high-performing, scalable, reliable and constantly improved upon. This includes owning and driving  the deployment of Noggin’s systems hosted within the AWS platform.

You'll be joining Noggin at a very exciting stage in our company's evolution as we're on the precipice of launching our next generation SaaS platform and with that, a significant growth trajectory.

To cap it all off, you'll be working with varied and complex problems daily for a vast array of customers across defence, emergency management, HSE, corporate crisis, business continuity and beyond. The work that you do will enable our customers to genuinely make the world a safer, more resilient and better place.

What does it take to be a Noggin?

The Senior AWS Systems Engineer is expected to bring their subject matter expertise of the AWS ecosystem (including AWS Architect certification) to enhance Noggin’s capabilities and to assist with support and maintenance activities within Noggin’s self-hosted and customer hosted environments.

In addition to this, you will provide Noggin with best practice guidance and contribute to the future state of our architecture. You will need to be able to confidently articulate concepts and define solutions to a wide audience.

You have a strong knowledge of IT infrastructure beyond AWS (including Linux) coupled with a deep and demonstrated understanding of IT Security best practices and IT networking technologies.

Given we're a global SaaS company, you will be asked to contribute to Noggin's after-hours support roster as required.  Additionally, due to the nature of our customers, you will need to be willing and eligible to gain an NV1 level security clearance within Australia.

What does success look like in this role?

Core to this role will be the successful day to day management and evolution of our AWS and broader infrastructure. Coming in to the role, it's critical that you become fully acquainted with our tech stack, systems and processes - and that you understand our software and customers. This will be the focus of your first three months.

By the 6 month mark, we will look to you to help us set the strategy for our IT operations (particularly in relation to AWS) and you will ideally have developed some ideas around how we can improve and evolve this. This will likely translate into a number of internal projects and process improvement initiatives which you will lead and drive to completion.

12 months on, you'll be ready for your next challenge and depending on how we scale and grow, there's a good chance you will have (or will be ready to) step into a more senior role - potentially with your own direct reports.

To apply, please use the online application link. For further information or to arrange a confidential discussion, please email talent@noggin.io.

Please note, you must be an Australian Citizen and be eligible to obtain security clearance to be considered for this role. No Agencies Please.
