Overview
The Data Warehouse Engineer will be a core member of a team that consults on behalf of a leading DoD readiness project. This individual will participate in hands-on development for our enterprise data warehouse and BI analytics solution. This position may require technical and team leadership as well as mentoring others to support their development.
Qualified candidates MUST be US Citizens with the ability to obtain a secret, DoD security clearance.
Ideal candidates will possess an active security clearance and/or knowledge of military/DoD-related data operations & procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develops or modifies procedures to solve complex database design problems, including performance, scalability, security and integration issues.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents complex databases.
- Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of database engineering activities.
- Data warehouse and data mart design, implementation and maintenance
- Data lifecycle and quality management
- Transforming data according to complex business rules using SSIS, T-SQL, IBM DataStage
- Extend and evolve BI analytics tools using Cognos and PowerBI
- Troubleshoot issues in an efficient and systematic manner to identify and resolve underlying causes as well as take a proactive approach to solving problems creatively using available resources.
- Responsible for maintaining consistency in terms of planning, estimating, executing, and communicating work and progress within the team. Expected to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals on both an individual and team aspect
Required technical skills & experience
- BS in CS or Engineering plus 7+ years of related experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of database technologies, along with solid coding and computer system skills
- Proven record of delivering end to end scalable enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence analysis solutions.
