Program Manager - Software Engineering at Brunel (Saginaw, MI)

About this role

In this role you will be leading project management activities across all functional areas for systems and electronic systems organization. You'll lead and guide a team of project managers to deliver multiple Electronic Power Steering embedded system developments for a range of projects through completion.

As well as defining goals, guidelines and metrics for your team, you'll be the point of contact on electrical systems project management for both internal and external customers. You'll forecast project workloads, assign resources, prioritize activities and gather information to identify and mitigate risks to projects and programs. Your expert project planning and tracking skills with Microsoft Project and PLM tools will ensure tracking is available at every step, and that various estimations are recorded accurately using Parametric, Wideband Delphi, MVC, COCOMO and similar.

You'll use your skills in agile development methodologies to organize system deliverables, and proactively identify any risks. You'll use your experience with ISO 26262 functional safety concepts to inform software development at all stages, and apply your expertise with MISRA and static analysis tools such as QAC to inform decision-making.

You'll lead with a focus on continuous improvement, using embedded system quality assurance tools, and other programs such as project configuration software, automotive communication protocols (CAN, KIN, Flexray) and AUTOSAR standards.

About you

As well as at least 7+ years of embedded system development experience, you'll have at least 4 years of Project Management and/or Leadership experience (and likely your PMP Certification).

Must haves:

• Excellent knowledge of various software development lifecycles, models and methodologies
  
• Very good understanding of embedded system quality assurance and project configuration tools
  
• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (a Master's degree is highly desirable)
