The Senior Database Engineer will join our database team to build the next generation of our core data and database solutions supporting business intelligence, platform integration, and machine learning technologies in a web-based, multi-tenant, secure cloud environment.

Using Solid Database Development Practices, You Will Work Closely With Product, Engineering, And Operations Teams To Design And Develop An Enterprise Data Ecosystem Around Microsoft SQL Server That Supports Our Existing Software Platform Including
- Creating and optimizing data models in Amazon Relational Database Services (Amazon RDS) and Microsoft Azure Cloud Services environments
- Improving application data access and distribution patterns
- Implementing effective multi-tenant management strategies for availability and backup for hundreds of customers
- Implementing data governance and security for data platforms in the cloud
- Investigating and implementing the next evolution of data persistence and movement strategies.
- Developing in and configuring Microsoft SQL Server
- Developing data and database solutions in support of application development teams
- Optimizing T-SQL queries for performance
- Working with monitoring and performance tools such as SQL Sentry
- Performance tuning databases using SQL Server execution plans
- Proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving live database systems issues
- Implementing backup and recovery processes in clustered and high availability environments
- Implementing high availability solutions for load balancing, connection pooling, and query partitioning
- Implementing database versioning, change management, and automated database deployments
- Making meaningful decisions between technical and business trade-offs with extensive knowledge of data engineering tools, technologies and approaches
- Operating in a fast-moving, dynamic development environment
- Communicating with internal and external customers
- Collaborating across departments and teams
- Leading small projects and tasks
- Experience with Amazon Relational Database Services (Amazon RDS) or other cloud services
- Experience with non-RDBMS data persistence solutions such as NoSQL and Kafka
- Experience supporting application development teams in a Java environment
- A bachelors degree in engineering, science, or another related field
- 6 or more years of relevant work experience
- 3 or more years of experience with database architecture concepts including data modeling, storage, partitioning, indexing, security, logging, data governance, data sovereignty, master data management and archiving
