Database Engineer at Empire Petroleum Partners, LLC (Dallas, TX)

Job Summary:

A Database Engineer is needed by Empire Petroleum Partners. In this position, you will be working on the design and development of SQL Server databases, writing queries and providing complex database analytics and reporting. We are looking for someone who has performed multiple projects developing complex T-SQL scripts to load data and integrate internal and external systems. Primary responsibilities will include data manipulation, transformation and translation to facilitate systems migration and integration. You will analyze data and create metrics to drive operational performance and improvement. You must have a strong background with SQL Server scripting and be on your way to learning and using the latest Azure data platform offerings. Power BI and DAX experience are a bonus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, design and develop T-SQL scripts for data manipulation, ETL processes, reporting, analytics and system's integration
• Develop on a variety of SQL Server versions 2008R2/2012/2014/2016
• Design and document logical and physical database models to cater to a variety of business requirements
• Create database tables, queries and reports using T-SQL Stored procedures, Functions, Triggers, Constraints and Indexes
• Be able to understand SQL queries without assistance and tune for performance
• Knowledge of Tuning SQL queries, Maintaining Data Integrity and Data Consistency, Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
• Support the migration from an old ERP system to the new replacement
• Design, implement and support interfaces between databases and other operating environments
• Interpret and analyze data from various source systems to support data integration and data reporting
• Building/publishing/sharing dashboards/reports in Power BI

Requirements:

• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
• Detail Oriented.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
• 8+ years of SQL Server development on one or more of these systems (SQL 2008, SQL 2012, SQL 2014, SQL 2016)
• Extensive working experience on SQL Server, SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Proven track record building complex T-SQL to support data loading, business operations, automation, and reporting
• Have supported data migration projects where reverse engineering was required

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with Power BI
• Knowledge of DAX
• Experience with Microsoft Azure platforms (Azure SQL, Azure Data warehouse, Azure Analysis Services)
• Factor accounting or PDI accounting system integration or reporting experience
