We're looking for experienced Data Engineers to join our team in Lisbon to work on an exciting project for the world’s biggest Trucks and Buses manufacturer.

At the DTB Tech & Data Hub, a 100% subsidiary of Daimler Trucks and Buses based in Lisbon, we are building global services for the commercial vehicle industry. We are creating value from real-time data leveraging the power of analytics, machine learning and AI collaborating with visionaries, researchers and tech-startups from all over the world to define the future of B2B mobility.
Your responsibilities
- Implement data transformation pipelines in batch and streaming to feed databases with aggregated data to serving layer
- Align with Data Scientists and prepare data for machine learning algorithms
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for the created jobs
- Maintain all jobs with improvements and bug fixes as needed
About you
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and love building new things from scratch.
- You are willing to constantly challenge yourself by learning new approaches and technologies and encourage a culture of mutual learning and collaboration.
Main requirements
- Degree in computer science, mathematics or related fields
- You have deep understandings of Hadoop technologies and Data in Motion concepts
- You have a deep understanding of Application and Infrastructure Design in a Cloud Environment
- Experience with Unit testing, automated integration and load tests
- Experience in RESTFUL API development (preferred with JAX-RS and/or Swagger)
- Strong knowledge of Java development
- Knowledge of Scala development or other functional programming languages
- Proven experience with streaming using Apache Storm or Kafka Streams
- Proven experience of Map/Reduce frameworks such as Spark and Hive
- Experience with HBase, Phoenix and general de-normalized database concepts
- Strong experience with SQL
- Nice to have: experience with Data stacks, microservices or front-end technologies is a big plus
