Backend Developer at OODA Health (Salt Lake City, UT)

What you will do:

• Design and build data pipelines that ingest and process large quantities of structured and unstructured data from varied sources.
• Scale our ability to use the data we collect to build production applications and machine learning models.
• Collaborate with data scientists, and product managers to design and build APIs and systems for our products.
• Ensure our systems are secure and easy to build, test, and deploy.
• This role will work on proprietary technologies and information.

Requirements and Experience:

• Experienced Python programmer with hands-on, in-depth knowledge of relevant tools & frameworks in Pythons ecosystem.
• Sharp analytical abilities, proven software design skills, and a track record of delivering quality products.
• 5+ years experience in platform and application development and deployment.
• Three years of professional experience with Go, Java, Python, Ruby, or another server-side programming language, comfortable writing and maintaining performant SQL queries,
• Experience designing and building distributed systems, and experience building web APIs.
• At least a bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline

Would be cool if you have these too:

• Open source contributions or demonstrated project portfolio.
• Experience influencing best practices for software engineer teams.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
• A portfolio of non-trivial projects to discuss and/or demonstrate.
• Experience building software in a startup world and/or the healthcare industry.
