Senior DevOpsEngineer - 8103We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for an international company who has found a new way for enterprises to store, backup, and share files. They built the first global file system based in the cloud, so they scale without the limits of legacy device-based file systems. Their file services platform enhances cross-site collaboration and accelerates business growth, plus it saves their enterprise customers 60% compared to the cost of separate on-premises NAS, backup, archive, replication, and DR infrastructure.
The Senior DevOps Engineering role is based in the Boston, MA area and it’s critical that this person be based in Boston.  The role reports to the Chief Cloud Officer. Our client has had phenomenal growth over the last year and this opportunity is open because of their success. You will share their high standards for quality, performance, reliability and user experience to be considered for this opportunity. This opportunity comes with a competitive base salary and an outstanding benefit package. The Senior DevOps Engineer will participate in the company's on-call rotation and will receive additional on-call pay.  Local candidates preferred but relocation will be considered for candidates not based in the area.  No sponsorship or C2C opportunities available.Responsibilities of the Senior DevOps Engineer:Our client is excited to be growing the small team that builds and maintains the client Operations Center. Their NOC provides the key services and supporting infrastructure that makes their shared storage and global locking possible. Critical skills include familiarity with AWS, Linux systems, and Configuration Management, as well as the common DevOps activities, practices, and techniques found in highly automated environments. Candidates for this position will have supported high-scale REST API services as well as customer and internal-facing web applications. They understand the importance of quality and responsiveness in meeting customer expectations. Success in this position requires you to be a self-motivated team player and an open-minded individual contributor who can help the team reach its larger goals by:

• Support, maintain and enhance NOC functionality and infrastructure through Puppet, CloudFormation, Python scripting, and incident response.
• Contribute to maturing the DevOps and SRE practices utilizing methodologies such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Agile, and Acceptance Test Driven Development.
• Take or share ownership of one or more large areas of the the Operations Center hosted at AWS.
• Practice Root Cause Analysis to determine the scope and scale of issue impact. Create epics/stories and construct automation to prevent problem recurrence.
• Participate or lead the development of new services.
• Develop repeatable tools and processes for automation, configuration, monitoring, and alerting.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, design reviews and other work related to expanding Nasuni's functionality.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for production systems.

Technical Qualifications of the PrincipalEngineer:

• At least 5 years' production experience in a process-oriented, versioned, and automated DevOps environment.
• Significant experience with Configuration Management, Agile Scrum, and CI/CD.
• Experience building, measuring, tuning, supporting, and reporting on high-traffic web services with an SLA.
• Comfort following versioning and release strategies with git/GitHub.
• Experience debugging AWS or other cloud infrastructure.
• Competence with bash, awscli, and simple scripting with Python. boto3 a plus.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (such as Puppet, Packer, CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Polyglot technologist - ability to learn and contribute using different technologies and interfacing with different programming languages.
• Knowledge of the principles found in the Google SRE book and how to apply them
• Experience with typical networking configuration, debugging, security and related practices.
• College experience in a related discipline (advanced degrees welcome).
• Activity with open-source communities is a plus.
