Gemalto is looking for an exceptionally talented SQL Reporting Database Administrator (Reporting, BI and Production) to join our Government Programs team in Austin. You'll bring your passion and expertise for developing customer dashboards and reports and migrating large data sets using SQL, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Power BI, T-SQL, and other tools as you build customer reports, lead data migration efforts using ETL and support production activities to maintain performance and high availability.  


You must have the ability to handle a fast-paced business environment and work collaboratively under tight deadlines, with a range of positions and levels of authority. You should also possess the qualities of excellent communications skills, organizational talents, efficient, conscientious, and reliable work habits.


Our team is responsible for the design and development of highly innovative components and products, from desktop applications integrating various hardware (biometric devices) to high-performance server applications, including the issuance of official documents in a very secure environment (PKI, encryption, cryptography).


A week in the life of your role as our Database Reports Developer:

  • You will be part of the project team working on innovative solutions to issue government official documents.
  • You will participate in the development of new solutions by being responsible for the database design and implementation.
  • You will take the lead in building Microsoft SQL Reports;
  • You will take part in building an enterprise data warehouse including BI Tools like SSRS and Power BI;
  • You will work with customers to diagnosed and resolve errors in SQL Reporting
  • You will take part in the Develop and design of ETL Packages for Database Migration
  • You will deploy and optimize databases in different environments (validation, UAT, Staging, Production).
  • You will support the databases on the live solutions by performing the appropriate monitoring and preventive maintenances.
  • You will maintain proper documentation for all database related topics.
  • You will be responsible for Maintenance Window activities for database upgrade and schema changes
  • You will report progress against deadlines as requested by management.
  • As part of the development team, you will participate in conforming to company standards and actively improving them.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • To succeed at this job, you must have: experience with Microsoft Visio and Powerpoint, SQL 2012-2016, T-SQL, SQL Management Studio, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI, Visual Studio SSDT, Data Warehouse and Power shell
  • You must have U.S. citizenship as required by CFIUS.
  • It would be preferred if you have experience with SQL database administration and migration mechanisms (ETL).
  • You must be fluent in English.
  • We would like someone to join our team who is a strong team player with proven experience and a willingness to take ownership of a topic and successfully bring it to completion.
  • You must be well organized with strong attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You must have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of Microsoft SQL database experience and SQL Reporting.
  • You must be able to travel up to 30% of the time domestically during the specification and integration phases and for workshops.
