The Alexa engine team is looking for a SDM to help build analytics platform to understand customer's experience while interacting with Amazon Alexa. The data is used both by internal and external services to improve their services and drive customer satisfaction.


As a Software Development Manager, you will lead a team of engineers that are passion about new data products, building best of breed data ingestion and storage platform and interacting with multiple domains within Alexa. You will have an established background in developing highly scalable software, a strong technical ability, excellent project management and communication skills. You are goal driven and motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. We're working hard, having fun, and making history.


Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the overall systems development life cycle
- Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; including day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
- Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach
- Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management
