About Comcast VIPER (Video IP Engineering & Research) VIPER(Video IP Engineering & Research), is a startup division within Comcast's Technology and Product Division and spun out from IP Video and online projects originated within Comcast Interactive Media is based in downtown Denver, CO. We are a cloud-based, IP video infrastructure that's been built to deliver a broad mix of on-demand video, live TV streams and an assortment of other digital media to an array of connected devices in the home.
VIPER provides video streaming, content protection (DRM), advertising, emergency alerting and real-time analytics services to Comcast and its partners. The Customer Experience is of paramount importance to us -- it should be for you as well.
As an SDET Engineer on the VIPER QA team, you will develop test capabilities and frameworks into products that are used by millions of people to stream Live, On-Demand, Recorded and Offline content on hundreds of different devices.
Participate and contribute in the planning, constructing and execution of test scripts. Apply business and functional knowledge including testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodologies to meet the teams overall test objectives. Ensure all testing results are easily accessible and understandable. Track defects to closure and keep defect repository up- to- date.

Who does the Software Development Engineer in Test work with?
SDET engineers work alongside with the core development team and Systems Integration in Test engineers. We work with some of the most talented software engineers, project managers, delivery owners, network engineers, and a whole host of technically adept people within Comcast. Our goal is to ensure the code developed by software engineers matches specifications and flush out any bugs discovered in a testing cycle. You will have the opportunity to impact VIPER products from concept to delivery.
What are some interesting problems you'll be working on? In your role, you will ensure code meets requirements developed by Service Directors and use your sleuthing skills to uncover bugs. You will have the opportunity to put the system through its paces and develop a set of automated test cases. We work with the latest industry technologies and you will have an opportunity to grow your skillset in tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Where can you make an impact? By delivery automated test code that allows for repeatable, reliable testing solutions and building new tools to assist in faster test automation and functional testing efforts and innovate on existing automation processes. Success in this role can be characterized by showcasing your testing, Development and management skills, so we can bring our products to market with minimal impact to our subscribers with maximum quality.
Skills & Requirements ? Familiarity with the full lifecycle of QA Engineering support for a UNIX, open-source-style environment with a strong focus on Agile cadences and Continuous Integration ? At least 4 years of experience in a mature software development organization ? At least 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with primary focus being test automation and API validation ? Significant experience in one of the following categories: o Deployment Automation & Containerization (Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes) o Configuration Management and Build Automation o Large-Scale Systems Integration & Automation ? Experience with a variety of scripting languages including Python and Javascript ? Experience writing core programming languages such as Java or Objective C ? Familiarity with Continuous Integration Development Lifecycles and the specific Development and Testing challenges inherent to that approach ? Good communicator and able to clearly articulate complex issues and technologies ? Willing to take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution ? Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment. Requirements change quickly and our team needs to constantly adapt to moving targets. ? Ability to refactor code and participate in iterative Automation development ? Medium to Strong knowledge of continuous integration and delivery concepts
? Ability to create technical documentation ? Experience working within an agile development process ? Ability to analyze and translate requirements and development stories into test scripts
